The access control and presence by temperature measurement reader is a high-speed device ideal for controlling temperature at the access of workers or people in a space.
It incorporates the most advanced German temperature sensor on the market. It does not require a blackbody. It allows detecting people with and without masks, increasing safety.

What are temperature measurement readers and how do they work?

Temperature measurement readers are devices that integrate high-precision sensors, generally based on infrared technology, to measure body temperature without physical contact. This feature allows for safe and rapid measurements in environments with high foot traffic, reducing the risk of human error and improving health control and access processes.

The most advanced models combine these thermal measurements with biometrics (facial recognition, palm of the hand) or RFID systems to provide complete and automated access control. These readers detect the infrared radiation emitted by the skin and convert it into temperature data with very tight margins of error (up to ±0.3 °C in some models).

When and why install a temperature reader?

Critical applications

  • Facilities with high foot traffic: offices, factories, educational centers, and hospitals.
  • Integration with physical access control or time control systems.

  • Processes where health reliability is a priority (prevention of contagions or risk control).

The devices benefit from configurations that avoid strong backlighting or other physical interferences that may affect camera recognition.

Facial access control + palm of hand + Temperature

We have included in our catalog access and time control terminals through facial recognition and/or palm of the hand with temperature measurement (+/-0.3º). Indispensable if we want to protect our staff and avoid production stoppages due to a possible contagion.

An important condition for using these time clocks is that they cannot be installed in front of a strong light source (sun, spotlights) as the recognition through a camera is affected by “backlight”.

These devices will give us an extra layer of security in the current situation. While their cost is somewhat higher than one without temperature detection, the cost of having to stop the production of our entire company is much greater, making it quickly amortized.

As a time clock, it will guarantee that the person clocking in is the one who should do so and saves us the costs of having to acquire cards, making it a more economical system than with band or proximity cards.

These devices allow us to open doors or activate any electronic device, such as automatic doors, turnstiles, barriers, etc., when a clock-in occurs from an authorized person, whether by facial recognition, fingerprint, card (optional) or code + pin.

They have an auxiliary relay that can be connected to a siren to provide a sound alert in case of abnormal temperature detection.

Temperature control for companies

If the installation is carried out in companies, it can also be used to know who is inside the facilities in case of emergency, allowing also to generate reports with the worked hours of employees.

The use of biometric means for personnel control is perfectly legal and does not pose any problems regarding the GDPR, being implemented in hundreds of companies and public organizations in our country. How to choose a suitable temperature reader

Selecting the temperature reader depends on several technical and operational factors that must be considered based on the environment and control objectives. Below are the main criteria for making an informed decision:

1. Sensor accuracy and tolerances

The sensor accuracy is critical in environments where the reliability of thermal measurement has health or legal implications. It is advisable to opt for devices with an error tolerance of ±0.3 °C or less, especially if integrated into access control with temperature measurement processes.

2. Integration with access control systems

It is essential that the reader can easily integrate with the existing access control system, whether through standard protocols, relays, SDKs, or APIs. Interoperability with RFID systems, facial biometrics, and MIFARE cards is a key advantage.

3. Measurement speed and traffic capacity

In installations with high foot traffic, the facial recognition and temperature measurement speed must be less than 1 second per user. Some models allow scanning up to 30 people per minute without physical contact.

4. Compatibility with presence management software

To automate presence control, many readers allow synchronization with time management or labor control platforms. Ensure that the device is compatible with the time clock software you use in your organization or that it includes its own management platform.

5. Physical installation requirements

The installation environment directly affects the reliability of the device. It is important to consider the ambient lighting, the reading distance recommended by the manufacturer, and to avoid direct light sources or reflections that may interfere with the camera or thermal sensor.

Temperature Readers for Secure Access: Technology and Precision

Temperature readers for secure access combine advanced technology and precision to enhance security in various facilities. These devices use high-precision sensors that can measure body temperature from a safe distance, thus facilitating a controlled access environment without contact. This system is ideal for places with high foot traffic, such as offices or educational centers, where speed and accuracy are crucial to maintaining daily operations without interruptions and safely.

Moreover, the integration of these readers with access control systems improves overall security by allowing only access to individuals who do not present elevated temperatures, which is essential in the current public health context. Advances in this technology focus not only on temperature measurement but also on ease of implementation in existing systems, offering adaptive solutions that can be customized according to the specific needs of each environment. These systems are an effective tool for preventing health risks, ensuring that only healthy individuals access the facilities.

Innovation in Temperature Readers: Ensure a Controlled Environment

Innovation in temperature readers is revolutionizing environmental control through the implementation of low-cost technology that allows for precise and automated temperature monitoring in controlled environments. These advanced technological solutions are key to optimizing production processes in various industries, especially in the food sector, where precision in temperature measurement is crucial to maintaining the quality and safety of products.

Additionally, the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in temperature control systems is transforming cold chain management in sectors such as transportation and retail. IoT temperature sensors offer real-time tracking and continuous monitoring, significantly reducing human errors in temperature measurement and improving the reliability of collected data, thus ensuring that products remain within safe temperature ranges throughout their handling.

Advanced Temperature Readers: Efficient Solutions for Presence Control

The technology of advanced temperature readers for presence control continues to evolve, offering more integrated and efficient solutions. These systems use infrared sensors and deep learning algorithms to provide accurate and rapid body temperature measurements, which is essential for environments where the constant flow of personnel requires efficient and contactless control. The capabilities of these devices include not only biometric identification through facial and palm recognition but also real-time temperature detection, thus ensuring a safe work environment in compliance with public health regulations.

Furthermore, recent advances in temperature access control technology are aimed at improving interoperability with other security and building management systems. This allows for smoother integration with existing systems, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing response times to incidents. These advanced systems can adapt to various environments, from industrial facilities to corporate offices, offering customizable solutions that fit the specific needs of each organization. This underscores the importance of adopting innovative technologies that not only provide security but also foster an adaptable and efficient work environment.
